Measurement accuracy
Every RoofGo measurement is an estimate from aerial imagery. Always check the roof on site before you sign a contract. The photo can be years old, trees can hide part of a roof, and a room added since the photo was taken is invisible to it.
Check every estimate
- Look at the aerial photo on the property sheet: Does this match the house in front of you?
- Check the photo’s date. When it is old, RoofGo asks you to make sure the house has not changed since.
- Tap Show roof outline to see which roof was measured on the map.
Adjust the numbers
- Roof size: tap − or + to change the squares, half a square at a time.
- Pitch: the label shows what was measured. Tap a different pitch if yours is different.
- Stories and Roof system: tap the right one.
- Missed a garage or shop? Add another building and tap it.
The price updates as you change them.
Roofs RoofGo will not price on its own
- No pitch from the imagery: you confirm the pitch and roof system, and tick the box, before you can send it.
- Flat or low slope (under 2/12): shingles are not priced on it. Turn on a low-slope system such as TPO or EPDM in the Price Book, or quote it after a site visit.
- Very large roofs are flagged as probably commercial. Review the price before it goes to a customer.
- No price: this roof needs review means nothing was charged for that tap. Tap Set the pitch and system by hand to price it yourself.
- Measure this one by hand means the imagery could not give a usable measurement. Measure the roof on site.
Making it better
Once a job has been measured properly, the Owner, Admin, Team admin, Manager and Office can type the real takeoff into Accuracy. It is the only way RoofGo can tell how close its estimates are for your company.
