When RoofGo prices a roof, and when it doesn't

No price, no charge. A Property Credit is used only when RoofGo gives you a usable price.

When a roof shows no price

RoofGo shows no price and charges nothing when:

  • No aerial roof data at the address.
  • The nearest roof it can measure is too far from the tap, so it is probably the neighbor's.
  • Too small to be a house, or too large to price from the air.
  • More than half of the roof is hidden under trees.
  • A pitch no roof system in your Price Book is set up for, like a low-slope roof with no TPO or EPDM turned on.

The screen says which one it was. Tap the main roof again, set the pitch and system by hand, or measure it on site. See Measurement accuracy.

Roofs partly under trees

  • Up to 35% hidden: a firm price.
  • 35 to 50% hidden: priced as a range with a warning. It uses 1 credit.
  • More than half hidden: no price, no charge. Measure this one by hand.

Other flags on a priced roof

  • No pitch in the aerial data: the roof is priced and flagged. Confirm the pitch and roof system before you send it.
  • An old photo: every estimate shows the photo date, and RoofGo warns when it is more than five years old. Check that the house has not been added to since.

Measuring the same house again

The same house again within 30 days is free. Reopening a saved property, editing an estimate and sending a proposal use no credits. See Billing and Property Credits.

Before a contract or material order

A RoofGo price is an estimate from aerial data and your Price Book. Before anyone signs or orders materials, check on site or with a measurement report:

  • The measurements and pitch
  • How many layers of shingles there are
  • The decking
  • Flashing, chimneys, skylights and vents
  • Anything built since the photo was taken
